My Own (former) Backyard

By Steve Dix, President - Pacific Stonescape Inc.

As a former design/build landscape contractor in Northern California back in the 70's-80's, I developed a fondness for small sized landscape projects with ample budgets and an interest in the owners to do cool things. So, when my wife and I downsized to a brand new home in a Corvallis subdivision in early 2015, I was excited to tackle the 40' x40' backyard - mainly because the lot next door was open and I knew I might luck-out and get to move-in some really large boulders! I also wanted a putting green and high-quality night lighting along with a small water feature. We recently sold this home for a new project but I still miss this backyard!

We called this the "Old Man" rock. See the face? Great Molalla boulder that doubled as a bench rock.
