Bitteroot Ledgestone

Bitteroot Ledgestone

Robust tones of red, bronze and rust are characteristic of Bitteroot and it's blocky to bar-like shapes give it a high degree of utility. The only issue to know about this stone is that it tends to bleed iron which is not a problem if it is drystacked but may be one if you do not pre-tint your mortar - otherwise you will get rust staining of the mortar joints in both veneer and patio applications. It should also not be used in or around ponds for the same asthetic reasons in addition to potential toxicity to fish.
